The power of an
affirmation is that it focuses your mind. Since your body reflects what your
mind is focused on, it behooves us to fill and train the mind with wanted
outcomes versus allowing it to resort to whatever thoughts enter (default
thoughts or thoughts from others).
Keeping our thoughts
directed keeps us on purpose. This allows increased productivity, less
distraction and allows us to work on our priorities, getting more
accomplished.
An affirmation is defined
as a positive declaration or an assertion - Webster’s Dictionary
It is a confirmation and a
pronouncement.
Affirmations can be done
by
By repeating an
affirmation we create what we think.
What our mind focuses on
becomes greater and is reflected in our physiology (body). Be aware of how you
program your mind. What you think and believe
is what you will see.
We may run negative
programs through molding and sculpting over time and by our personal
experiences.
For some we have
programmed ourselves this way.
For others we have learned
negative programs from family, peers or society and my not be aware that we
are creating negative “self talk”.
“When I catch myself
thinking of something that I don't want, I try to change the thought to a
different one. It is difficult at first but it gets easier. It is amazing
how often I catch myself and have to interrupt the pattern.” Says Dr. Liz
“It is amazing to really
see clients running their programming and the impact on them when they
change it.” says Dr. Carol Ann
For example do you catch
yourself saying?
“Don’t forget your car
keys.”
“I am nervous.”
“Don’t spill the water”.
“I am such an idiot.”
Repeat these out loud many
times. Observe how you feel. What are you creating by your focus?
Positive affirmation and
“self-talk” would change these four
sentences to become: “Remember
your car keys.”
“I am calm.”
“The glass is steady.”
“I am capable”
Repeat the above phrases out loud many times. Observe how you feel. How does
this feel different?

of your predominant thoughts? Click Here
What are they?
Write them
down.
Can you change
them to a positive meaning and intent?
What are
your affirmations as a Girl, a Gal and as a Guru?
Affirmations
are powerful when stated in present tense
with “I am”. |
Many of us use
negative disempowering self talk such as: I am too
slow, I am
not pretty enough, I am too old, I am not smart enough, I am not
rich enough, I am not thin enough. How can you catch yourself
while having these thoughts and reset them to a positive? If you
are having a challenge with removing negative thoughts – try
writing them down on a sheet of paper and crumbling up the paper
or shredding the paper.
Give yourself
permission to imagine those thoughts leaving with that act.
In the long run,
what is the benefit of removing that negative program you’re
your life?
|
Examples to consider begin
creating your own.
I am strong.
I love to laugh
I am confident
I am capable
I control my health and
happiness
I am a success in all that
I do
I am in harmony with the
universe
I am at peace with myself
I am worthy of love
I
am responsible for my life
Use these affirmations to
springboard you.
We encourage you to
develop your own or use the GGG affirmation daily.
Say them when you need to
reset and anchor yourself.
Say them daily or
throughout the day.
Dr. Carol Ann has her
affirmations laminated and sticks them on the shower wall. When Dr. Liz
began using affirmations, she had them shrunk and taped to the area of the
horn in her car. She now has them taped to her desk and has them located on
her laptop and in her journal. Both Dr. Carol Ann and Dr. Liz continue to
use group affirmations recited in their practices with staff prior to
beginning each day.
We would love to hear from
you. We invite all Girls Gals and Gurus to share your affirmations with us
and what they mean to you. Please send your thoughts to
